Elaine is a periodicals editor for Amazon’s Kindle. She is owned by two African Grey parrots, three exotic goldfish (Queen Elizafish the First, Anne Beaufin and the Archfishop of Canterbury), two bettas, one Devon Rex cat, and a young Lipizzan filly named Quiana.

The role of animals in history is one of her main interests. Animal intelligence and the shifting human view of it are also prime passions. An avowed “non-specie-ist,” Elaine finds all creatures intriguing and secretly suspects that we humans are surrounded by backyard geniuses and animal Einsteins.
