Readers' Pets: Borias the German Shepherd
Introduction: Say 'guten tag' to Borias von Herzensfreude. In German, this roughly translates to "Heat's Joy", which is so appropriate, since Borias is my "heart dog". A heart dog is that once in a lifetime dog that is so special, that it's as if you are soul mates. His nickname is "Bobo", which I didn't intend, but his breeder's little girl started it, and now it's a habit that I can't stop. There's also "The B Man" and "Little Brother".
Home: We're in San Diego, CA.
Age: Borias is 7.5.
Breed: He's a GSD, short for German Shepherd Dog. He's from German working lines.
Personality: Ah, personality. Plus. He's a very expressive dog, and also very opinionated. As is the case with many of his breed, he's extremely vocal. He barks when he's happy, excited, upset, disgruntled, to tell me off...basically he likes the sound of his own voice. And it's loud. He's a very playful type, very puppy like, loves to be a clown and make me laugh. He's scary smart, and knows hundreds of words and phrases. I can talk to him in full sentences many times, and he gets it. This can be a pain at times! He's very, very perceptive, and attentive. He also has a bit of a lazy streak. Can go from laid back to wild child bouncing around, and back again at the drop of a hat. He's wonderful with children, and other dogs. (As long as either doesn't attack him ha ha).
Likes: He loves to go to the zoo, and knows what the names of many of the animals are. Also loves the beach, and frisbees and balls. Loves treats (and remembers any business who's given him one). Loves to hold the leash in his mouth and bounce around, and pull my chair really fast. Likes to take the occasional sneak dunk in a public fountain (ssshhh). Loves swimming. Loves sprinklers. LIkes to chase bunnies, squirrels, and scatter birds.
Dislikes: Baths. Getting his tail or feet stepped on or rolled over. (this is when he tells me off) Isn't thrilled with shopping (typical male), and doesn't dig being bored. Doesn't like being in the sun.
Favorite Toy: A floppy frisbee and a big sheepskin ball.
Favorite Food: Anything I cook for him. He eats better than I do.
Trivia: He has met many celebs and has even been to a U2 concert.

Guten tag to Borias! And helllooooo, Handsome! :) He's just gorgeous. I love the other shots in the Flickr pool, too.
